Overview

ME - Equipment Planning & Installation Engineer (Assembly Shop)

Responsibilities

    1. Design and develop robust manufacturing concepts to simplify and improve processes and ensure best practices
    1. Design layout of equipment or workspaces to achieve maximum efficiency.
    2. Design, install & troubleshoot manufacturing equipment related to Automotive General Assembly Shop.
    1. Research and test design ideas to determine feasibility, utilizing lean manufacturing, kaizen, Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis to formulate and support innovation, corrective actions, and improvements.
    1. Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness.
    2. Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.
    3. Design testing methods and test finished products or process capabilities to establish standards or validate process requirements.
    4. Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
    5. Estimate costs, production times etc for new designs.
    6. Evaluate manufactured products according to specifications and quality standards.
    7. Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations.
    8. Investigate or resolve operational problems, such as Bottleneck operations, material use variances etc
    9. Prepare documentation for new manufacturing processes or engineering procedures.
    10. Review product designs and Equipment design for manufacturability or completeness.

 

 

Qualifications

Bachelors or  in Mechanical / Production / Automobile Engineering.

Essential skills

  • Worked with Automotive OEM in Manufacturing Engineering Department.
  • Knowledge of Equipment Installation & Commissioning – (Mechanical, Electrical & PLC controls).
  • Knowledge of Vehicle commodities & its assembly equipment’s.
  • Knowledge in Cycle time calculation, Layout study and Layout Planning for assembly shop.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels and able to manage task independently.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Knowledge of Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

Desired skills

Experience in Manufacturing Engineering domain from Automotive industry with very good understanding of Vehicle assembly processes & Assembly Equipment’s.

Very good knowledge of English, spoken and written.

Experience

4-8 Years of hands on Experience in Assembly shop Equipment  Selction, Design, Installation & Validation.

Knowledge of Assembly process and systems of automotive domain
