Overview

Design Release Engineer – Engine components

Responsibilities

1. Utilize CAD software (CATIA V5/V6) to create detailed 2D and 3D
models of mechanical components and systems for automotive
applications.
2. Collaborate with cross functional team to understand design requirements
and specifications.
3. Good knowledge in PLM (Dassault System Enovia) for drawing release
activities.
4. Knowledge on Engineering change order and requests.
5. Develop innovative design solutions that meet performance, reliability,
and cost targets while adhering to project timelines.
6. Conduct feasibility studies and analysis to evaluate design concepts,
identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
7. Perform tolerance analysis and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
(GD&T) to ensure proper fit, form, and function of components.
8. Generate detailed engineering drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and
other technical documentation to support manufacturing and assembly
processes.
9. Work closely with manufacturing engineers and suppliers to ensure that
designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
10.Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to
improve design quality and efficiency.

technologies related to automotive engineering and CAD software.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical / Automobile Discipline
  • Work Location: Hosur

Essential skills

1. Proven experience 5+ years of working as a CAD engineer in the automotive industry.
2. Proficiency in CAD software, such as CATIA, or UG NX.
3. Good knowledge in PLM for release and engineering changes activities.
4. Strong knowledge in Microsoft tools will be added advantage.
5. Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including kinematics, dynamics, materials science, and thermodynamics.
6. Experience with design analysis tools (e.g., Finite Element Analysis) is added advantage.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
8. Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross functional teams.
9. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
10. Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and industry standards.

11. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and safety standards in the automotive industry.
