Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical wiring harness systems for vehicles or industrial equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Create 2D and 3D harness routing using CAD tools (e.g., CATIA V5, Siemens NX, or Zuken E3).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to integrate harness designs into overall product architecture.
  • Generate and maintain detailed documentation including wiring diagrams, connector tables, and BOMs.
  • Conduct design reviews, DFMEA, and validation activities to ensure product reliability and manufacturability.
  • Support prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting of harness systems.
  • Interface with suppliers for component selection, cost optimization, and manufacturability feedback.

Qualifications

BE in Mechanical or Electrical  Engineering with knowledge of automobile parts

Essential skills

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring harness architecture, and component selection.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools for harness design (e.g., CATIA Electrical, Capital Harness, Zuken E3).
  • Familiarity with automotive or industrial standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IPC/WHMA-A-620).
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Experience with PLM systems and change management processes.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work with deadlines & without supervision

  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills

Desired skills

  • Experience with high-voltage harness design for EV or hybrid systems.
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC considerations in harness layout.
  • Exposure to CAN, LIN, or other automotive communication protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with harness manufacturing or assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, and root cause analysis tools.

Experience

  • 1-4 years of experience in Electrical Wiring Harness, Design, Harness routing, Modification, Drawing, BOM, Design Release in Enovia
  • Strong Experience on Catia V6 or 3D Experience
