Objective:
- Responsible for developing part designs and/or systems of Underbody assuring that design rules are followed, and design practices are implemented, consistently across all components and systems within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create Parametric Surface models of Under body components of BIW as per
- Packaging requirements
- Design standards
- Performance criteria
- Geometrical requirements
- Create Associative Assembly models
- Responsible for meeting DVP&R and DFMEA by virtual analysis by interacting with necessary CAE teams
- Take part in periodic design reviews for all the project assigned, update status and concerns
- Ensure the Design meet all design criteria and mating part criteria from other functional areas, confirm to Regulatory standards, best practices, voice of customer
- Adhere to TC/ PLM system rules and maintain part history
- Maintain the structure as per EBOM in TC / PLM system
- Release parts and assemblies as per Corporate Release Process
- Work with EBOM Team to maintain structure up to date
- To assist the PC/PR (development team) to do the technical feasibility, design robustness, component manufacturability and the compliance of technical documentation
- To ensure the completeness/availability of all documents necessary for tooling release.
- Participate in Supplier Technical Reviews
- To interact with the suppliers & plant to understand any issues & ensure the issues are addressed with appropriate feedback without leading to any delay in delivery
- Assist PC/PR in providing engineering support to problem solving activities at the assembly plant from pilot phase through launch / post launch
- Support the Change management by design changes and /or incorporating feed backs from Development team
- DMU check for clash and clearances
- Work with PC/PR and participate in the diagnostic activities on the relevant systems/components
Task / Deliverables:
- In the area of competence can be responsible for:
- Support Manager/ lead for Execution of robust, quality, cost and weight efficient designs that ensures successful launch while meeting program objectives.
- Support standardization, re-use, harmonization, benchmarking, and lessons learned activities in his/her domain, ensuring the application of corporate technical best practices.
- Support team to develop technical solutions, supplier co-ordination, ensure part quality for builds, build process development, root-cause issues, verify best practices read across and technical integrity in case of changes
- Support product diversity definition per KPI requirements along with Vehicle Program team, Product planning and Brand and Supplier
- Support for Source Package development.
- Within his/her responsibilities he/she must support to guarantee the conformity to Internal Control System rules.

To meet Key vehicle, launch milestone with Cost, Quality per given timeline on the respective commodities.
