• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Micro Focus UFT (formerly QTP) for web, desktop, and API applications.
  - Architect scalable and reusable automation frameworks and libraries.
  - Collaborate with QA, development, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective test automation solutions.
  - Execute automated test cases, analyze results, and report defects.
  - Integrate UFT automation with test management and CI/CD tools (such as ALM, Jenkins).
  - Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to automation best practices.
  - Mentor and guide junior QA automation engineers in scripting, framework usage, and problem-solving.
  - Continuously improve automation processes to enhance test coverage, reliability, and efficiency.
  - Maintain comprehensive documentation for test frameworks, scripts, and processes.

  - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  - 6+ years of experience in test automation with a strong focus on UFT/QTP.
  - Proficiency in **VBScript** and extensive hands-on experience with UFT/QTP.
  - Experience designing and implementing modular, scalable automation frameworks.
  - Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and test management processes.
  - Experience integrating UFT with ALM, Jenkins, or other CI/CD tools.
  - Solid problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
  - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  - Experience with REST/SOAP API automation using UFT.

• This person will need to liaise with project stakeholders from all vendors through communication, updates and reporting etc.
• They need to be able to build an approach and plan for test automation within an agile and waterfall delivery model
• They need to have experience with UFT1, from setup, install, configuration all the way through to creation of assets and report templates
• They need to be a problem solver and be able to own a task and meet delivery timelines
• They need to be prepared to get into the detail as well as management level. They cannot take a step back and pass these tasks to everybody else within the team.
• They need to be a strong manager of a team. It is highly likely they will have 2-3 squads of automation engineers working for them and they will be responsible for ensuring delivery is on time and of a high quality.
• They need to understand technical infrastructure and how it communicates with each other, especially understanding of Azure cloud instances.
