QA Manager - SwitchNxt platform for Banking Project

 

The QA Manager for the SwitchNXT / FIS Cards domain will lead the quality assurance function for card‑switching, card processing, and related payments operations. This role is responsible for setting QA strategy, ensuring test coverage (functional, non‑functional, scheme compliance), leading a team of manual & automation testers, coordinating with development, operations, scheme networks (Visa, Mastercard, NPCI etc.), and driving continuous improvements to enable high reliability, performance, security, and compliance of the card‑switching platform.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the QA strategy for card switching, authorization, clearing, settlement, chargebacks, reconciliation etc.

  • Establish policies, processes, best practices for QA in the context of payments / switch platforms.

  • Plan QA activities tied to product release schedules, scheme certification cycles, regulatory compliance.

  • Estimate efforts, resource needs, test environment requirements, and test data plans.

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA Leads, Automation Engineers, Manual Testers.

  • Recruit, train and retain QA talent; define growth paths.

  • Allocate resource across projects, ensure that team capacity aligns with upcoming deliverables.

  • Conduct performance reviews, set objectives and KPIs for the QA team.

  • Oversee development and evolution of test automation frameworks. Ensure reusability, maintainability, robustness.

  • Promote automation of regression, integration, API / message‑protocol tests.

  • Ensure full test coverage: end‑to‑end card / switch flows: authorization, issuer/acquirer, POS/ATM, eCommerce, clearing & settlement, chargebacks, reversals, reconciliation
  • Ensure adherence to external scheme / network requirements (Visa, Mastercard, NPCI etc.).

Essential skills

Hands‑on understanding of automation frameworks (APIs / message flows / simulator testing). Proficiency with tools for test management, CI/CD integration, debugging, logs, performance tools.

Strong working knowledge of databases (SQL), scripting / programming (e.g. Java, Python or similar), ability to review / guide test code, test data setup, understanding of system / network latency, message tracing

 

Desired skills

  • rior exposure to SwitchNXT platform or other FIS switch products (e.g. IST, Connex, RPaaS)

  • Experience handling large transaction volumes, distributed / real‑time systems

  • Familiarity with scheme certification cycles, external audits

Experience

10‑15+ years in software QA / testing roles, with at least 4‑6 years in leadership or management. Domain experience in payments / card switching / FIS / similar platforms is strongly preferred.

 

Deep knowledge of card lifecycle (authorization, settlement, clearing, chargebacks, reconciliation), switching (ISO 8583, ISO 20022 etc.), scheme rules (Visa, Mastercard, NPCI etc.), regulatory & compliance requirements (PCI, data protection, etc.).
