CMM & Laser Metrology Engineer – Automotive (Overseas Assignment)

The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in CMM programming and operation, with preferred experience in Laser Tracker systems (Hexagon) and Faro Arm for precision measurement and inspection of complex automotive components & Toolings.

• Utilize Laser Tracker systems (Hexagon) and Faro Arm for large part inspection, alignment, and reverse engineering.
• Program and operate CMM machines (PC-DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, or equivalent) for dimensional inspection.
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T to develop accurate inspection routines.
• Analyze measurement data and generate detailed inspection reports.
• Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to resolve dimensional issues.
• Support PPAP, APQP, and customer-specific quality documentation.
• Maintain and calibrate metrology equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Assist in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Train junior staff on metrology tools and best practices.

Diploma or Bachelors or  in Mechanical / Production / Automobile Engineering.

• 4–6 years of experience in dimensional inspection in the automotive industry.
• Proficiency in CMM programming and operation.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, ISO/TS 16949 or IATF 16949 standards.
• Experience with Laser Tracker (Hexagon) and Faro Arm is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with quality tools: SPC, MSA, FMEA, Control Plans.

• Knowledge of 3D CAD software (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks).
• Experience with reverse engineering and 3D scanning.
• Exposure to Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Kaizen methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities(good knowledge of English, spoken and written.)

• 4–6 years of experience in dimensional inspection in the automotive industry.
