The Designer/Drafter position for the Engineered-to-Order (ETO) team will process customer orders for
new and special mechanical equipment and systems. This position will be directly responsible for the
output deliverables of Bills of Material, solid models, drawings, and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
projects at Engineering Technology Centre, India
• Independently perform design assignments from simple to complex using design standards and
tools, product knowledge, design expertise, creativity, and resourcefulness for new and special
orders.
• Design and create mechanical part and assembly models using SolidWorks 3D software.
• Prepare product design layouts, engineering drawings, Bill of Materials and ECN documentation
for processing the customer order.
• Contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of the Documentation Management System.
• Ensure that designs use current manufacturing, assembly and installation practices that result in
a producible product.
• Work in collaboration with Application Engineers, Operations and Sales to provide designs per
customer’s request.
• Assist with the creation of prototypes and perform testing or validation of designs.
• Provide drafting support to the YZ engineering team as needed.
• Verify designs against project specifications and standards to ensure the highest quality and
compliance.
• Support the selection of appropriate materials and components based on project requirements.
• Support/Lead product design and engineering efforts for assigned NPD/ LCE projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in design and development.
• Proactive, self-motivating with ability to develop your own priorities.
• Flexible, adaptable, and eager to deliver timely results despite unanticipated challenges.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and Auto CAD experience – Part creation, Drafting, Assemblies and design
tables.
• Knowledgeable of ASME Y14.5, GD&T principles and tolerance stack up.
• Experience with mechanical components and develop and implement best practices for
manufacturing processes.
• Hands on experience in concept development and Continuous Design Improvement.
• Experience in understanding engineering workflow & PLM system (Windchill).
• Responsible for new product technical feasibility study, Design review, DVP etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical details coherently
to the customers.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work in a global environment across different time zones.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to conduct business in English
• Proactive, self-motivated individual with ability to prioritize multiple tasks, giving high quality output
