QA Lead for Managed Core Banking project
We are seeking an experienced QA Lead for our Core Banking Managed Services team. This role will oversee quality assurance across multiple banking modules including ATM Switch (Base 24 & IST), Middleware Applications, Murex, Trade Finance, Reconciliation and Payments. The QA Lead will define the QA strategy, lead test teams, coordinate with service delivery, development, operations and business stakeholders, and ensure the managed services are delivered with high quality, minimal defects and strong compliance to SLAs.
Define and own the QA strategy, test approach, tools and processes for the managed services engagement across modules (Trade Finance, ATM Switch, Middleware, Murex, Reconciliation, Payments).
Lead a team of QA engineers/testers; allocate resources; track and report status to senior management.
Work closely with service delivery managers, operations, application developers and business analysts to ensure test planning integrates with deployments, changes and production support.
Ensure test coverage for functional, integration, regression, performance (where applicable) and non-functional testing (security, compliance) for banking modules.
Drive automation wherever feasible (test automation frameworks, script development, CI/CD integration) to improve test efficiency and speed.
Ensure test environments and data are managed appropriately, deployment of changes are validated, and rollback/ contingency plans are in place.
Define and monitor key QA metrics (defect leakages, defect trends, test coverage, time to test, re-work, etc.) and present them to stakeholders.
Ensure adherence to SLA-based delivery (e.g., managed services SLAs) and coordinate defect triage, root cause analysis, corrective actions, continuous improvement.
Maintain good communication with business, operations, and development — escalate risks, propose mitigations, ensure quality gates are respected.
Mentor and build capability within the QA team: training, career growth, best practices adoption.
Stay updated on industry trends in banking technology (e.g., Murex, payments processing, switch platforms) and QA/testing best practices.
Strong exposure to core banking managed services environment — delivering/testing modules such as:
Trade Finance (letter of credit, guarantees, import/export workflows)
ATM Switch -Base 24 & IST (switch processing, transactions, reconciliation)
Middleware Applications (ESB, message queues, APIs, integration layers)
Murex (front-to-back securities/trading platform) or similar large banking platforms
Reconciliation (bank ledger vs customer, inter-bank, account reconciliations)
Payments (domestic, cross-border, ACH, RTGS, instant payments)
Demonstrated proficiency in test methodologies: functional, integration, regression, automation, non-functional (performance, security).
Experience defining and implementing automation frameworks (Selenium, API-testing tools, other relevant tools) and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
Solid knowledge of banking operations, financial services domain, regulatory/compliance aspects.
Excellent stakeholder management, coordination skills, ability to work in a global/multi-vendor environment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving skills; ability to triage defects, identify root causes, recommend improvements.
8-12 years (or relevant range) of QA experience with at least 2-4 years in a lead/test-manager role in banking or financial services.
