We are looking for an Application Engineer responsible for engine/transmission system integration within vehicle development programs. The role acts as the technical interface between engine hardware teams and vehicle platform teams, ensuring all engine or transmission components work together as a complete system.
Ensure full system integration of engine/transmission components.
Solve transmission/engine integration issues, track issues in PLM, support manufacturing plants, manage task forces.
Plan and allocate engineering resources; manage development work for base engine/transmission components.
Coordinate testing, validation, simulations, and system studies.
Participate in milestone reviews, design reviews, and global technical discussions.
Support RCCOs on component changes, DFMEA, approvals, and pilot builds.
Global communication with PSA/Opel partners, suppliers, labs, and plant teams.
B.E. (MECH or AUTO)
5+ years in engine/transmission design, development, or integration.
Strong understanding of powertrain systems, mechanical engineering fundamentals.
Experience in vehicle packaging, engine/transmission interfaces, and system-level problem solving.
Knowledge of PLM systems, Bill of Materials (BOM), validation processes.
Familiarity with FMEA, SOD (PSA development process), and quality tools.
Exposure to testing, validation, simulation & analysis (S&A) is a plus.
Understanding of manufacturing engineering and operations (ME/MO).
Strong cross-functional leadership—can drive teams without direct authority.
Excellent communication skills for global collaboration (France, suppliers, multicountry teams).
Ability to negotiate technical requirements and balance trade-offs (cost/quality/performance).
Project management capabilities—timing management, issue tracking, milestone delivery.
Problem-solving mindset; experience leading task forces for critical issues.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Automotive Engineering (Dipl.-Ing. equivalent preferred).
Fluent English (written & verbal) for global coordination.
