Overview

Development Lead – Interior Lighting (IL)

Responsibilities

  • Leading the team and manage the design of IL Components.
  • Design review with Global Technical Centre Team
  • Manage Packaging, Manufacturing and assembly feasibility study of IL components
  • Review and approve technical data sheet and DVP&R for the ILcomponents.
  • Review and approve DVPR /DFMEA for the IL components and align with the supplier/team.
  • Review CAD Data finalization of design before Step releases and TKO Packaging and clearance studies & performance studies of IL components with the surrounding parts to make sure that part is within the specification.
  • Coordinate with the IL simulation team to makes sure that part is meeting the light target and meeting the functional requirements of the system. Co-ordinate design release/TKO sign-off processes and ensure targets are met according to project timeline.
  • Interaction with supplier, PLM activities, Development Coordination, CFT Coordination, DVPR testing coordination with supplier and coordination with the CFT to get the checklist approval in PLM on every project milestone.
  • Review light simulation results and suggest design improvements (light performance, reflection optimization & homogeniety check) to meet requirements

Qualifications

B.E./B. Tech or M.E/ M. Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, Production and Industrial Engineering

Essential skills

  • Product Design & development experience in automotive lighting Components: Ambient light, task lights, OHC and any interior lights
  • Working experience in Component & System level designing.
  • Should manage electronics development for lighting components
  • Expertise in UG or CATIA modeling, Surfacing and Enovia.
  • Good Knowledge in Manufacturing & Assembly feasibility study.
  • Work experience with International Tier 1 and OEMS.
  • Knowledge in Injection molding process.
  • Good presentation and communication skills.

Desired skills

Proficiency in design of light components & optics.
Good knowledge on manufacturing lighting components & process
