Responsibilities

Ensure the availability of Packaging by meeting the Build planning requirements, Cost, Quality, Safety & Ergonomics. Adherence with Program Milestone; Responsible for the Planning of Budget and Pack Cost KPI (CAPEX & Amortization)

 

·   Create the Master plan for Packaging Development Activity with respect Program milestone and Achieve required deliverables as per Program guidelines.                                                                                                                    

·   Estimate the Packaging Details like Size, Design & SNP to calculate CAPEX and Amortization Cost for program.

·   Study and develop the Best optimized packaging Design with respect to India region by considering various options like One way, Returnable, Rented….. Eventually choose the best optimized and cost-effective pack for implement.

·   Drive efficiency in Packaging through Density improvement & Value Engineering; Implementation of DFL (Design For Logistics) ideas

·   Should possess capability of Packaging Development for Domestic, Export or Import, SKD/DKD.

·   Complete Digital study for all parts and Finalise Concept, Packaging Dimension, SNP, Orientation & Design confirmation in PLM for part - RT/RAL ratings by SCM                                                                           

·   Pack Proposal from Suppliers, validate different Proposals and Finalise Efficient Concept with Optimized Cost

·   Based the finalised Concept, estimate Loop Size & Budget (Capex/Opex) and Finalize Pack Design - Work with Pur for negotiation with suppliers and Release PO                                                                                         

·   Manage Digital Validation with all stakeholders (Alignment on Proof of Concept)                                                                 

·   Develop Proto Packaging and co-ordinate with all stakeholders for Validation through Trials (Manf, IQ, VPE, CPL, Logistics & Supplier) and Complete signoff by CFT                                                                                 

·   Visit Suppliers to ensure on-time Pack Readiness/Supportability for Pre-builds/Programs milestones

·   Ensure Pre-builds are supported with Proto Pack, Ensure Static/Dynamic Validations are conducted and final signoff from Suppliers

·   Ensure PO release for Mass Production specific to Capex investments.

·   Develop a Plan by working with suppliers for Mass Production of Packaging; Monitor and Report progress (as per Procurement Strategy aligned during industrialization phase), Resolve/track open concerns on Pack

·   Ensure the packaging availability with supplier as per the IAP Logistic Book Standard (7 check points)

·   After completion of procurement, request supplier to raise the invoice for payment process as well Asset Capitalization process.

·   Create/Maintain Pack Master Data and Lessons Learnt for 100% of parts and support Transfer of parts to Serial Life

·   Co-ordinate with QCP team and support to upload J Series Grid in PLM for APQP

·   Prepare and report Pack cost KPI (Cost of per Car/CBM, Explanation to Deviations) on monthly basis and Align with Program Steering Committee

·   Manage & Support e2e Pack Development on any Change Management (Parts Engineering/Volume Fluctuations/Source changes) -ECN/ECR process.

·   Explore further Cost improvement in Pack during mass production through Synergy/Monozukuri/Workshops

·   Support digital enablement in Pack Development Process (new Concept, Use of emerging Technology…)

·   Participate Monozukuri and support to share the innovative and improvement ideas from SCM in order to reduce the TpC of Car

·   Support serial life team for various mode of secondary launch and adhere the planning & schedule to completed SCM related activities on time.

·   Create RACI for Change management process and publish to respective team to participate and complete their tasks without delay.

·   Serial life capacity increase on packaging and other SCM activity confirmation based on the monthly analyses of MPP Volumes

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering / Management / Supply Chain, Master degree preferred
  • Minimum 6 -8 years of experience in Supply Chain and preferred in Project Packaging Engineering Activities, Experience in Managing external team

Experience in Logistics Design & Setup, Packaging Cost Management/ Optimization, Packaging/ Product Development Processes

Essential skills

  • Minimum 6 -8 years of experience in Supply Chain and preferred in Project Packaging Engineering Activities, Experience in Managing external team

Experience in Logistics Design & Setup, Packaging Cost Management/ Optimization, Packaging/ Product Development Processes

Technical: 

  • Highly skilled in 2D & 3D Software (CAD/CATIA/Pack Assist), Auto Parts/Packaging Simulations Tools, PLM Software
  • Exposure to Automotive Production Process, Parts Packaging and Transport Techniques
  • CAPEX Management & Cost reduction program on SCM
  • Change management activities with respect to SCM on serial life program                           
  • Managing Packaging Vendors/fabricators & Logistics service Providers
  • Part knowledge and Packaging material & Costing knowledge
  • Exposure to Supply Chain/ Product Development Processes                                                               
  • Program Management & Team Management
