Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Lead the Wiper/Washer for Front & Rear Wiper System development activities.
- Responsible for the design, development, validation, and integration of vehicle Wiper & Washer systems including front and rear wipers, washer pumps, rain sensing functionality, and wiper motor control to ensure clear driver visibility under all weather conditions.
- Component development knowledge for Wiper Linkage & Mechanism, Wiper Motor, Washer System & Rain Sensor System.
- Should have vehicle integration knowledge Define wipe coverage requirements (driver vision area), Glass curvature compatibility, Arm & blade pressure optimization, NVH performance validation, Integration with ADAS camera area cleaning if applicable.
- Ensure Visibility component / system project, being consistent with quality, performance, time, and costs objectives and being supported by specialized areas.
- Vehicle build co-ordination, Engineering change lead, Expertise in development process.
- Ensure Cross functional team co-ordination on development and practices in a specific collaborative project with other regions.
- Homologation and Regulation compliance for all the Wiper/Washer/Mirror/Horn system components
- Responsible for the Engineering, Design, Development, Timing and Product release of Closure components
- Other responsibilities will include managing supplier (internal/external) development activities, weight and cost reduction opportunities, development, and validation of assigned components.
Task / Deliverables
- Supported by the Engineering Functions and the SSTL, depending on the specific area of application can be responsible:
- To manage Project deliverables within his/her area.
- To manage codesign Suppliers Project deliverables within his/her area, supported by the Engineering Functions and the SSTL, responsible for Quality convergence process (e.g., APQP grid).
- To ensure the correct and efficient information flow and reporting during the project development phase to SSTL.
- To participate to any hand-over phase, if present, and to the definition with Engineering functions for relevant components/systems, technical solutions and corresponding performance, timing and cost targets (using the appropriate systems).
- To ensure the completeness/availability of all engineering documents necessary for sourcing (Sourcing Packages) on time to support Project deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with global standards such as: FMVSS 104 – Wiper performance regulation in US & ECE R78 Visibility requirements in Europe.
- Candidate should drive the supplier technic review for wiper system.
- To ensure the technical feasibility, the design robustness, the component manufacturability and the compliance of technical documentation, through the coordination of engineering (if necessary) and product suppliers.
- To point out the critical issues or any infringements of Design/Test Standards and identify the actions needed to respect the assigned targets.
- To manage the design FMEAs execution performing the risk assessment and to provide support during process FMEAs execution.
To make available the documentation necessary to implement technical modifications (e.g. ODMs/CCD/CNs/ECR), to request their economic evaluations, to support the SSTL during the approval phase and to guarantee the associated drawings release. To monitor, through the accountable departments, their application in production according to the time schedule and procedures provided.
- To ensure the completeness/availability of all documents necessary for tooling release (TKO) and software release and validation
- To ensure the release of the product structure for Mules (and PWB plywood buck if requested) ensuring the Part Delivery
- To carry out/to ensure the diagnostic activities on the relevant systems/components and to provide engineering support in problem solving activities at the assembly plant (PER/VLO etc.) from pilot phase through launch, when requested.
- Own technical validation plans for ED (Engineering Design), DV (Design Validation) and PV (Process Validation) testing, ensuring they are completed on time, resolving, and escalating non compliances and providing info to PMO support team.
In case of a maintenance model assignment, all the above-mentioned activities will be aimed to manage life cycle upgrades (i.e. MCA, Facelift), cost reductions and quality improvement.
Software skill requirement:
- CAD design experience – UG NX / CATIA.
