Your future job: You are part of the IP Connect CIB squad, a highly skilled team based in Brussels and Chennai. The team is larger than a typical Agile squad and is responsible for Mainframe applications supporting international payment flows across BNP Paribas Group. As a Mainframe Expert (FA / TA / Developer), you will work as a hands-on, T-shaped profile, actively involved in technical analysis, development, and testing activities. As a Mainframe Expert, you have the following responsibilities:
• You perform functional and technical analysis based on business requirements
• You actively contribute to development (COBOL), debugging, and testing activities
• You support production issues and ensure stability of applications
• You collaborate closely with squad members in an Agile setup
• You ensure a clear understanding of requirements and provide structured solutions
• You contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team
• Over time, you may support or coach junior team members to strengthen their technical expertise
You work in an offshore setup, collaborating closely with teams in Brussels and Chennai. Your strengths • You have a bachelor or master’s degree in IT and at least 5 years of Mainframe experience
• You are fluent in English
• You have a strong hands-on technical profile (COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS)
• You have solid experience in Technical Analysis (TA)
• You are actively involved in development and not limited to coordination activities
• You have experience in the banking domain; knowledge of international payments is a strong advantage
• You have strong analytical skills and can understand and challenge requirements
• You communicate in a clear, structured, and concise manner
• You are assertive, pragmatic, and a strong team player
