Senior Design Engineer - Body Exterior Trims

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

 

Senior Design Engineer of Exterior Trim Components will be responsible for the Engineering,Design, Development, Timing and validation of Body Trim components. This will includevanalysing the design to ensure it meets requirements and working with the extended vehicle team for production implementation and competitive benchmarking, Change Management, Issue Management, Team Management and BOM Management.

  • Concept Design and feasibility studies of Bumpers, Functional Plastics, Claddings, FEM,Roof Rack, Side Steps etc.
  •  Design reviews, design practice checks, regulations, Master Section Creation.
  • Lead the team of senior Engineers and Engineers
  • Experience on All exterior Plastics – Bumpers, Roof Rack, Wheel Liners, Pillar Appliques /Moldings, Badges and FEM/Aero/Cladding - Body Side Moldings, Underbody Shield, Spoiler, Side Steps.
  • The Engineer will execute component standardization and reuse, DVP, best practices and lessonslearned in other Global car projects. The successful candidate will maintain functional objectives,DFMEA's, DVPR's and standards.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s  Degree  in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • 6 ~10 years of experience in Body Exterior trim design and development.
  • Experience in Body Exterior systems, including vacuum forming, injection molding and Thermoforming.
  • Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).
  • PLM release experience.
  • Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Green Belt/Black Belt, Shainin / Kepner-Tregoe reactive problem solving.
  • Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA). Self-starter with strong leadership, communication skills and demonstrated problem solving ability.

Essential skills

Essential:

 

  • Hands on experience on Exterior trim part design and development.
  • Good experience in design rules, regulation requirements and packaging with surrounding parts
  • Strong background in plastics part development process
  • Strong Experience in UG NX, CATIA and PLM ENOVIA.
  • Strong background on Exterior part homologation requirement.
  • Plastics processing knowledge, Tooling background is essential.
  • Strong background on Automobile Product life cycle management and Manufacturing knowledge.
  • Good Knowledge in Change Management, Change Notice and ECR Issue resolution and cost management knowledge.
  • Knowledge on Testing and validation plan.
  • Better understanding of the Variants, Complexity management
  • Good Experience in DFMEA, DVP&R.
  • GD&T and tolerance stack-up study
  • Excellent communication and Team player.
