Overview

The Workday HCM Consultant is responsible for supporting the design, configuration, implementation and ongoing optimisation of Workday Human Capital Management solutions. This role works closely with HR, IT and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable Workday solutions that improve processes, data quality and user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyse and document business requirements for Workday HCM processes and functionality.
  • Configure and maintain Workday HCM modules, such as Core HCM, Compensation, Absence, Time Tracking, Recruiting or Talent, depending on business need.
  • Lead or support workshops, solution design sessions and process reviews with stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into functional designs and recommend best-practice solutions.
  • Support data migration, testing, defect resolution and deployment activities across project phases.
  • Prepare and execute unit testing, system testing and user acceptance testing.
  • Provide go-live and post-production support, including troubleshooting configuration and process issues.
  • Create user guides, process documentation and training materials to support adoption.
  • Collaborate with integration, reporting and security teams to ensure end-to-end solution integrity.
  • Keep up to date with Workday releases and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in Workday HCM configuration, implementation or support.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and data, with the ability to align system design to business needs.
  • Experience supporting multiple phases of a Workday project, including design, build, test and deployment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functional and technical teams.
  • Experience with reporting, integrations or security is beneficial.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Systems or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Relevant Workday certification, such as HCM Core, Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Absence, Time Tracking or Reporting, is desirable.
  • Experience working in a consulting, HRIS or enterprise systems environment is preferred.
  • Understanding of Workday best practices, change management and system governance.
  • Strong commitment to customer service, quality delivery and continuous learning.
