ET Support for Banking Project
The FX Trading Platform Support & Configuration Specialist is responsible for the daily technical operations, 24x7 production stability, and application lifecycle of the bank’s locally deployed, on-premise LSEG / Refinitiv / Reuters Electronic Trading (ET) FX platform. Operating entirely on local Linux infrastructure, this role combines hands-on engineering with platform configuration management. You will directly manage the LBN adapter, maintain TrAPI (Trading API) interfaces, and handle all internal ET system configurations related to currency pairs, pricing books, tiers, and trader permissions.
Key Responsibilities
* Platform Configuration Management: Manage and update all functional configurations within the ET system, including new currency pairs (CCY), pricing tiers, spreads, markup rules, and user/trader provisioning.
* Adapter & Interface Management: Oversee, troubleshoot, and optimize the LBN adapter and TrAPI interfaces to ensure seamless upstream/downstream messaging and uninterrupted connectivity.
* 24x7 Production Engineering: Provide end-to-end support for the local ET environment. Act as part of a 24x7 support coverage model to handle critical system alerts, process drops, and server-side production incidents outside standard business hours.
* Linux Infrastructure Support: Monitor and maintain the health of local Linux servers hosting the ET platform. Debug performance bottlenecks, analyze core dumps, and run system hygiene checks.
* Defect Fixing & Patching: Diagnose and resolve localized software bugs, scripting errors, and data mapping mismatches. Apply LSEG/Refinitiv core product patches, service packs, and upgrades directly to on-premise servers.
* Local Enhancements & Automation: Build and maintain Bash Shell scripts (or Python) to automate daily operational tasks, log parsing, system alerts, and internal reporting mechanisms.
* Front-Office & Post-Trade Support: Act as the main technical contact for the local FX trading desk and treasury ops. Investigate pricing anomalies, order execution drops, and trade drop-copy failures.
* Database Maintenance: Run SQL queries on backend databases for trade investigations, reference data validation, and configuration consistency audits.
Qualifications & Technical Skills
* Experience: 3–6 years of experience supporting front-office Foreign Exchange (FX) electronic trading software within a financial institution or consulting firm.
* Platform Expertise: Hands-on operational experience with LSEG ET (Electronic Trading) FX, Refinitiv/Reuters trading infrastructure, specifically managing LBN adapters and TrAPI.
* OS: Strong Linux/Unix administration skills (process tracking, system monitoring, file management).
* Scripting: Proficiency in Bash Shell scripting for log analysis, infrastructure automation, and data parsing.
* APIs & Messaging: Solid understanding of API mechanics (TrAPI integration), financial data structures, and FIX Protocolmapping.
* Databases: Practical SQL skills for querying and backend validation on relational databases.
* Domain Knowledge: Firm grasp of Electronic FX market workflows, including spot/forward pricing engines, order management, and post-trade routing.
* Soft Skills: Ability to thrive under pressure on a 24x7 support cycle, with clear, transparent communication during high-severity trading incidents.
