Overview

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Engineer to manage end-to-end logistics operations supporting engineering, prototype, development, and production activities. The role involves planning, coordinating, and executing domestic and international shipments, ensuring timely delivery of parts, assemblies, and vehicles while complying with transportation, customs, and trade regulations. The candidate will work closely with project teams, suppliers, freight forwarders, customs agencies, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth logistics execution.

Responsibilities

Logistics Planning & Coordination

  • Develop logistics plans based on project, engineering, and business requirements for domestic and international shipments.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand shipment priorities, schedules, and delivery requirements.
  • Prepare RFQs and obtain logistics quotations from transportation and freight service providers.
  • Support budget estimation, approval processes, and logistics cost tracking.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams for logistics vendor nomination and service order execution.

Domestic Logistics Operations

  • Plan and coordinate packaging, transportation, and dispatch activities for materials and equipment.
  • Arrange transportation through approved logistics service providers.
  • Create and manage shipment documentation, delivery challans, and dispatch records.
  • Track shipments and ensure timely delivery to the designated locations.
  • Communicate shipment status and delivery updates to stakeholders.
  • Monitor proof-of-delivery (POD) documentation and maintain logistics records.

Export Logistics Operations

  • Coordinate export shipment preparation, including packaging and documentation activities.
  • Prepare and verify export documents such as invoices, packing lists, and shipping instructions.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders for air, sea, or multimodal shipment bookings.
  • Work with customs brokers and relevant authorities to ensure compliance with export regulations.
  • Manage customs clearance activities and shipment handover to carriers.
  • Track export shipments and ensure adherence to agreed delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate with overseas stakeholders regarding shipment execution and delivery status.

Import Logistics Operations

  • Coordinate import shipment activities with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs agencies.
  • Monitor shipment readiness, transportation schedules, and arrival timelines.
  • Ensure timely customs clearance by coordinating with customs brokers and internal stakeholders.
  • Review and maintain import documentation and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Support shipment tracking and delivery coordination until final destination.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Interface with freight forwarders, customs brokers, transport vendors, and packaging suppliers.
  • Monitor vendor performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with project teams, procurement, finance, warehouse, and engineering departments.
  • Resolve logistics-related issues and escalations impacting project timelines.

Invoice & Payment Management

  • Review logistics service invoices and validate charges against approved quotations.
  • Support service receipt and invoice processing activities.
  • Coordinate with finance teams for invoice submission and payment follow-up.
  • Maintain logistics cost records and support reporting activities.

Qualifications

B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech in Automotive/Mechanical/Production Engg.

Essential skills

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of domestic and international logistics operations.
  • Experience in import/export documentation and customs clearance processes.
  • Understanding of freight forwarding, transportation planning, and shipment execution.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms, shipping regulations, and trade compliance requirements.
  • Experience coordinating with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and logistics vendors.
  • Good analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
