Overview

We are seeking an experienced Design Lead – Driver Control Switches to support the design, development, integration, and validation of automotive driver control switch systems. The role involves working on components such as steering wheel switches, combi switches, rotary shifters, electronic parking brake (EPB) switches, and other cockpit control interfaces, ensuring compliance with quality, performance, timing, and cost objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of driver control switch systems and related components.
  • Support concept development, feasibility studies, component integration, and product release activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, software, validation, manufacturing, and supplier teams.
  • Define and review component specifications, interface requirements, and validation plans.
  • Support DFMEA, DVP&R, design reviews, and engineering change management activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable automotive standards, regulations, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate supplier development activities and support issue resolution during development and validation phases.
  • Participate in vehicle-level integration, testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Drive cost, weight, quality, and performance improvements throughout the product development lifecycle

Qualifications

B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech in Automotive/Mechanical/Production Engg.

Essential skills

  • 6–8 years of experience in automotive driver control switch design and development.
  • Hands-on experience with components such as steering wheel switches, combi switches, rotary shifters, EPB switches, cockpit control switches, or similar systems.
  • Good understanding of automotive electrical/electronic architecture, sensors, and ECU interfaces.
  • Experience with CAN/LIN communication protocols and vehicle-level integration.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, validation processes, and product development lifecycle.
  • Experience with CAD tools such as CATIA or NX and PLM systems.
  • Familiarity with automotive quality and safety standards.
