Overview

We are seeking an experienced Design Lead – Cockpit Controls to support the design, development, integration, and validation of automotive cockpit control systems. The role involves working on HVAC control interfaces, switch systems, sensors, and related vehicle control components while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of cockpit control components, including HVAC control units, control panels, power window switches, steering wheel switches, seat switches, sunroof switches, and other vehicle interface controls.
  • Define system requirements and support architecture development for cockpit control systems.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, vehicle integration, validation, manufacturing, and quality teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Manage supplier interactions for component development, technical reviews, issue resolution, and product validation activities.
  • Support RFQ preparation, component sourcing activities, and technical evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable automotive standards, regulations, and quality requirements.
  • Drive component integration, testing, validation, and product release activities.
  • Support cost, weight, quality, and performance optimization initiatives.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for engineering and validation issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.

Essential skills

  • 6–8 years of experience in automotive cockpit controls, switch systems, HVAC controls, or related vehicle interior electronics.
  • Strong understanding of automotive electrical and electronic systems, sensors, actuators, and control interfaces.
  • Experience with vehicle communication protocols such as CAN and LIN.
  • Knowledge of product development processes, system engineering, validation, and supplier management.
  • Familiarity with PLM tools and CAD environments such as CATIA or NX.
  • Understanding of automotive quality processes, problem-solving methodologies, and product release activities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
