Overview

Experienced Airbus Design Engineer supporting in-service repairs, technical queries, AOG cases, and structural issues across A350, A380, Single Aisle, and Long Range aircraft. Skilled in damage assessment, repair design, AW/TD/Full Task/RDTS preparation, and providing compliant repair solutions and technical approvals for airline customers.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide Airbus In-Service Design Engineering support for daily repairs, event queries, and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) cases across A350, A380, Single Aisle (SA), and Long Range (LR) aircraft programs.
  • Perform structural assessments and develop repair solutions for Fuselage, Outer Wing, and High Lift structures, with exposure to ATA Chapters 52, 53, and 57.
  • Analyze aircraft damage reports and conduct technical evaluations to determine repair feasibility and compliance with Airbus airworthiness requirements.
  • Prepare and issue Technical Comments (AW) and Technical Dispositions (TD) in accordance with Airbus design and approval processes.
  • Review and approve operator-proposed repairs through AW documentation and develop detailed repair definitions through TD deliverables.
  • Develop practical, compliant, and cost-effective repair schemes that ensure structural integrity and continued airworthiness of the aircraft.
  • Prepare and manage Full Task, RDTS, and related engineering deliverables to support complex repair activities.
  • Respond to airline technical queries within defined service-level agreements and ensure delivery of engineering solutions within agreed turnaround times.
  • Utilize Airbus reference documentation, including AMM, IPC, SRM, CDL, and Service Bulletins, to support repair design and technical decision-making.
  • Prepare engineering documents such as RDAF, FCDs, and ASACs when standard repair data is unavailable or requires additional technical justification.
  • Coordinate with Airbus internal stakeholders to support engineering reviews, validation activities, and approval workflows before customer release.
  • Support dispatching activities by assessing request scope, determining Structures versus Systems ownership, and prioritizing critical AOG cases.
  • Collaborate closely with airline customers, design offices, and cross-functional teams to deliver timely and customer-focused engineering solutions.
  • Ensure all repair designs and technical dispositions comply with Airbus standards, regulatory requirements, and continued airworthiness objectives.

 

Qualifications

B.E/B,Tech in Mechanical Engineering/Aeronautical Engineering/Equivalent Degree's 

Essential skills

  • Airbus In-Service Design Engineering experience supporting A350, A380, Single Aisle, and Long Range aircraft.
  • Strong structural engineering knowledge of Fuselage, Outer Wing, and High Lift structures and Systems.
  • Good understanding of ATA Chapters 52 (Doors), 53 (Fuselage), and 57 (Wings) & other Systems.
  • Experience in aircraft damage assessment, repair feasibility analysis, and structural repair design.
  • Proficiency in preparing and reviewing Technical Comments (AW), Technical Dispositions (TD), Full Task, and RDTS deliverables.
  • Knowledge of Airbus design processes, airworthiness requirements, and repair approval procedures.
  • Ability to develop practical, compliant, and customer-focused repair solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Airbus technical documentation, including AMM, IPC, SRM, CDL, and Service Bulletins.
  • Experience in preparing engineering documents such as RDAF, FCDs, and ASACs.
  • Familiarity with Airbus internal validation, review, and approval workflows.
  • Experience handling airline technical queries and supporting time-critical AOG cases.
  • Ability to perform scope assessment and dispatching activities for Structures and Systems requests.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective stakeholder management and customer communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting turnaround time and quality requirements.
  • Proficiency in Airbus engineering tools and documentation systems, including CATIA V5, ENOVIA, RDTS, SAP, SRM, AMM, IPC, CDL, and AirbusWorld. Knowledge of structural repair design, engineering data management, and basic FEA/analysis tools is highly desirable.
