Robot Programming Engineer

Responsibilities

Functions to develop:

 

• Develop offline robot programs using DELMIA Robotics / Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE.
• Create, simulate, and validate robotic manufacturing processes for assembly, welding, drilling, sealing, painting, material handling, and fastening operations.
• Generate and optimize robot paths to achieve required cycle times while maintaining product quality and safety.
• Configure robot work cells, end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), fixtures, positioners, conveyors, and peripheral equipment within the 3DEXPERIENCE environment.
• Perform robot reachability studies, singularity analysis, collision detection, and interference checks.
• Simulate robot motion, process sequences, and multi-robot coordination to validate manufacturing feasibility.
• Develop and validate robotic process logic, task sequencing, and operational workflows.
• Support virtual commissioning activities by integrating robot programs with PLC logic and manufacturing systems.
• Optimize robot utilization, motion efficiency, payload handling, and workstation layout.
• Generate robot program outputs compatible with OEM robot controllers (ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Yaskawa, etc.).
• Troubleshoot robot simulation issues and optimize existing offline programs.
• Maintain digital manufacturing models and ensure synchronization between engineering data and robot programs.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Automation, Controls, Industrial Design, Production, and Quality teams.
• Prepare technical documentation, simulation reports, robot program documentation, and work instructions.
• Support commissioning, production ramp-up, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Any Graduation / Diploma in Engineering / Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME), or an equivalent technical qualification is preferred.

Essential skills

  • Strong understanding of industrial robotics and automated manufacturing systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Dassault Systèmes DELMIA Robotics / 3DEXPERIENCE.
  • Knowledge of robot kinematics, motion planning, and trajectory optimization.
  • Experience in offline robot programming and robotic simulation.
  • Understanding of robotic work cell design and manufacturing automation.
  • Knowledge of robot calibration, Tool Center Point (TCP), user frames, and coordinate systems.
  • Experience with robot path optimization, collision avoidance, and reachability analysis.
  • Understanding robotic process planning for welding, fastening, drilling, painting, sealing, assembly, and material handling.
  • Knowledge of robot controller architectures and program generation.
  • Understanding of PLC interfaces and robot-controller communication.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing process planning and digital manufacturing workflows.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Office)

Desired Skills:

•Experience in aerospace, automotive, or advanced manufacturing industries.
• Experience with offline robot programming and optimization.
• Understanding of PLC programming languages (IEC 61131-3: Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagram, Structured Text).
• Experience integrating robots with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and MES.

Experience

 

  • Lead / Senior Manufacturing Engineer: 6–10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in the aerospace or aerostructure industry/offline robot programs  background is an added advantage.
