3DX Work Preparation Engineer

Responsibilities

Functions to develop:

• Prepare and maintain Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOM) using DELMIA applications on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
• Convert Engineering Bills of Material (EBOM) into manufacturing-ready MBOM structures while ensuring product and process consistency.
• Create and manage Process Views representing manufacturing operations, assembly sequences, and production workflows.
• Perform WORKPREP activities, including manufacturing structure preparation, process planning, and manufacturing resource assignment.
• Associate manufacturing operations with parts, assemblies, tools, work centers, and production resources.
• Define manufacturing sequences, operation dependencies, and process hierarchies.
• Collaborate with product design, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, and production teams to validate manufacturing readiness.
• Analyze engineering changes and update MBOM and Process Views to reflect the latest product configurations.
• Ensure traceability between EBOM, MBOM, manufacturing processes, and production resources.
• Validate manufacturing data for completeness, consistency, and compliance with organizational standards.
• Generate manufacturing documentation, reports, and process planning deliverables.
• Support new product introduction (NPI), engineering change management (ECM), and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Any Graduation / Diploma in Engineering / Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME), or an equivalent technical qualification is preferred.

Essential skills

  • Hands-on experience with 3DEXPERIENCE DELMIA and WORKPREP applications.
  • Strong understanding of Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM) creation and management.
  • Experience preparing and maintaining Process Views for manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process planning, assembly sequencing, and resource allocation.
  • Understanding of EBOM-to-MBOM transformation methodologies.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing workflows, production planning, and industrial engineering concepts.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, product structures, and assembly documentation.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, or advanced manufacturing industries.
  • Experience with digital manufacturing and PLM-driven manufacturing engineering processes.
  • Familiarity with engineering change management and product lifecycle management (PLM) practices.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is an advantage

Experience

 

  • Lead / Senior Manufacturing Engineer: 4–8 years of relevant experience
  • Manufacturing Engineer: 1–3 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in the aerospace or aerostructure industry background is an added advantage.
  • Experience with CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) is an added advantage.
