Buyer AUTOMOTIVE WIRING HARNESS SOURCING & SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
• Source and develop suppliers for wiring harness components, including connectors, terminals, seals, wires, tapes, clips, sleeves, battery terminals, and plastic parts.
• Manage RFQs, supplier selection, commercial negotiations, and cost-reduction activities.
• Drive localization and alternate-source development.
• Support new-program sourcing from RFQ through SOP.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program teams.
• Monitor supplier performance for Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Capacity.
• Ensure timely PPAP, APQP, and material availability for production launches.

Qualifications

Education
• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Automobile, or Production Engineering.
• MBA in Supply Chain or Operations preferred.

Essential skills

  • Required Skills
    • Strong automotive purchasing and supplier-management experience.
    • Expertise in supplier negotiation, cost analysis, and strategic sourcing.
    • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and SAP/ERP systems.
    • Experience in localization and new-supplier development.
