CAE Automation Engineer – Stellantis

Role Overview:
CAE Automation Engineer responsible for developing and implementing automation solutions to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround time of CAE simulation processes. The role involves automating repetitive pre-processing, simulation setup, post-processing, reporting, and data-management activities across various CAE domains.

Responsibilities

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop automation scripts/tools for CAE pre-processing, solver execution, post-processing, and report generation.
  • Automate repetitive simulation workflows and reduce manual engineering effort.
  • Develop customized solutions using Python, MATLAB, VBA, or similar scripting/programming languages.
  • Work with CAE tools such as ANSA, META, HyperMesh, LS-DYNA, Abaqus, Nastran, or equivalent.
  • Automate model preparation, mesh checks, boundary-condition setup, load-case creation, solver deck generation, and result extraction.
  • Develop automated post-processing and visualization of CAE results.
  • Create dashboards, templates, and automated reports for engineering teams.
  • Integrate CAE tools with databases, Excel, PLM systems, and other engineering applications.
  • Understand existing CAE processes and identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and productivity improvement.
  • Collaborate with CAE engineers to convert manual engineering activities into robust automated workflows.
  • Perform validation and debugging of automation scripts and ensure reliability of automated processes.
  • Support deployment, documentation, and maintenance of automation solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s/ Master’s  Degree in Engineering  in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering.

Essential skills

 

Desired Skills

  • Strong understanding of CAE simulation processes and engineering workflows.
  • Hands-on experience in Python scripting/programming.
  • Knowledge of ANSA/META, HyperMesh/HyperView, LS-DYNA, Abaqus, Nastran or similar CAE tools.
  • Experience in CAE pre-processing and post-processing.
  • Knowledge of automation frameworks, APIs, macros, and tool customization.
  • Good understanding of automotive body structures, crash, NVH, durability, CFD, or other CAE domains is an advantage.
  • Ability to work with large simulation datasets and automate engineering reports.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
